Restart Grant Update

The Restart grant is a one-off grant payment to help businesses in England to re-open safely.

Grants are available as follows:

  • A one-off payment of up to £6,000 for non-essential retail business premises, to help them to re-open safely
  • A one-off payment of up to £18,000 for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses, which may open later under plans in the Government’s roadmap, and which will be more impacted by restrictions when they do

Current grants

1. Local Restrictions Support Grant 

This grant is forbusinesses which have been required to close for 2 weeks or more, due to local and/or national restrictions imposed by the Government. 

2. Additional Restrictions Grant

Applications for the second round of this grant are now open.

This grant may be able to provide support for businesses who do not qualify for any of the other schemes, up to 31 March 2021.

3. Restart Grant

The Restart grant is a one-off grant payment to help businesses in England to re-open safely.

4. Additional Restrictions Grant (Recovery)

This grant may be able to provide support for businesses who do not qualify for any of the other schemes, from 1 April 2021.
