About Us

Colne Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led and business-funded body. Businesses in a pre-defined area pay an annual levy (a percentage of their rateable value) to generate funds to invest in the town centre. We use the funds to develop projects that meet one or more of our four key objectives: Promote, Pride, Protect and Partnership. We are determined to ensure that Colne thrives now and in the future as a place where people will come for their shopping and services, as well as their entertainment and leisure. We believe our BID is providing the means for businesses of all sizes to act collectively, to pool their resources, and develop projects and services that are benefiting the town. The BID is a great opportunity to release the town’s potential and really make things happen so more people 'Come to Colne'.

We are here for a second term from 2023 - 2028. A big thank you to the businesses who voted YES for another five years!
